Garden improvement work including replacement fencing, gravel and timber retainers.
Our client’s aim
This garden had been neglected for some time with damaged, and mismatched, fencing as well as a damaged section of patio. The client wanted to repair and improve the garden to bring new life into it and make it a more welcoming and useable space.
Our proposal
- All existing fencing was removed and disposed of offsite.
- Two new sections of close-board panel fencing were installed either side of the garden, with a new pedestrian gate to match the fencing.
- A new green PVC wire fence was installed along the rear of the garden, to maintain the views of the fields behind, with a low palisade style gate to fit in with the style of fencing.
- The area of damaged patio was removed and replaced with a lining of geotextile membrane, to help combat against weeds, a Limestone subbase and a top layer of 20mm golden gravel to finish.
- Lastly, timber railway sleepers were used at the rear of the garden, where the earth was raised, to provide a retaining wall and a neat edge to the shrub border.
Result
The works provided for a much neater and more aesthetically pleasing garden with consistent fences and matches gates, and distinct gravel areas. The client was extremely happy with the works and commissioned additional works to clean and regrout the patio, and to replace the existing coping stones to rejuvenate the existing patio area.
